The name Forestle is deducted from the word “forest”. Forestle is a “green Internet search engine”. We use our advertising revenue to protect endangered rainforest regions in order to keep our worlds most precious ecosystems intact and fight global warming.
Forestle earns advertising revenue from clicks on “sponsored links”. These are text links which are displayed next to the generic search results on the result page of our search engine. The sponsored links at Forestle are delivered by our partner Yahoo.

All of our income (minus about 10% administrative costs) is donated to the adopt an acre program, which is run by The Nature Conservancy – one of the most renowned environmental protection organizations in the world. They use the money, which is generated by Forestle, for the sustainable protection of the most precious rainforests on our planet.

As far as i can see, Forrestle works pretty well. Sometimes even more hits than elGoog. But i can’t say anything about the quality, so check it out yourself! Ah and spread the word! Great idea.

Während sich die Bundesregierung in Kopenhagen auf internationalem Parkett als Klimavorreiter präsentiert, soll daheim möglichst lautlos der Klimaschutz aus dem Gesetz gestrichen werden: Noch während der Klimaverhandlungen wollen die schwarz-gelben Regierungsfraktionen in NRW die Klimaschutz-Ziele ersatzlos aus dem Gesetz zur Landesentwicklung tilgen. Einziges Ziel: Die Regierung von Jürgen Rüttgers will, dass der Energiekonzern Eon weiter am größten Kohlekraftwerksblock Europas bauen kann! Ein Gericht hatte den Bau wegen des Verstoßes gegen zahlreiche Gesetze gestoppt.
Dies würde ein fatales Signal nach Kopenhagen senden: Wie soll eine deutsche Bundesregierung glaubhaft China, Indien und Brasilien zu ambitionierten Klimaschutz-Zielen bewegen, wenn daheim Konzernprofiten statt Klimaschutz Vorfahrt gewährt wird! Jetzt müssen wir die Regierung Rüttgers von ihrer Klientelpolitik abbringen!

Zu Campact kann ich nur sagen, dass ich bereits mehrere Petitionen unterzeichnet habe und daher guten Gewissens sagen kann, dass eure Daten nicht für Spam missbraucht werden. Macht also mit und spread the word! Denn wenn eine Sache sicher ist – der Neubau von Kohlekraftwerken geht mal so gar nicht klar. Erst recht nicht, wenn es sich um das größte Europas handeln sollte. Manchmal frag ich mich echt, ob gewisse Herrschaften wirklich so skurpellos sind oder schlicht noch nicht im Jahr 2009 angekommen sind. Wahnsinn.
